Extensive Compensatory Measures: Qualitas Energy Subsidiary Duno Air Commissions Enercon Wind Project in Saarland

Berlin, Germany - Duno Air Windpark Planung GmbH, part of the Qualitas Energy Group, has successfully commissioned the Gersweiler wind farm in Saarland, Germany.

The Gersweiler wind project consists of one Enercon E-138 EP3 turbine with a capacity of 4.2 megawatts (MW) and one E-160 EP5 turbine with 5.56 MW. Together, the turbines thus have a total output of 9.76 MW.

In the course of project development, approximately 1.1 hectares of forest land were permanently transformed. The company relies on high-quality compensatory measures and fully compensates for this impact through reforestation in the Krughütte and Gersweiler areas. This not only neutralizes the ecological impact but also contributes to enhancing the overall quality of the affected landscape, creating an ecological surplus.

Duno Air Windpark Planung GmbH, based in Trier, Germany, is a full-service company specialized in the planning and construction of wind turbines, primarily in western Germany. In April 2023, the German portfolio of Duno Air's onshore wind development business with a volume of 1,400 MW (1.4 GW) was acquired by Qualitas Energy. Thus, Qualitas Energy's portfolio in Germany now added up to a total capacity of 3,000 MW (3 GW). Qualitas' ambitious investment plan aims to increase this capacity to 6,200 MW (6.2 GW) in Germany within the next two years.

As a major player in the renewable energy sector Qualitas Energy focuses on investments in the energy transition and sustainable assets. Qualitas Energy's global portfolio in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland and Chile now includes more than 5,000 MW (5 GW) of energy assets in operation and development, including more than 3,000 MW (3 GW) in wind energy.

Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH is part of the Qualitas Energy Group, which focuses on the acquisition, financing, project development, construction and operation of onshore wind power plants with a team of more than 250 employees in Berlin, Hamburg, Wiesbaden, Trier and soon in Stuttgart and Cologne.
